the fact that 2016 was 5 years ago and 2022 is just 4 months away is making my eye twitch…. need a support group for people who can’t process the linear progression of time
what people think gift giving as a love language means: *spending an excessive amount of money on materialistic gifts for people during the holidays*
what gift giving as a love language actually means: “i picked up this cool rock that i found on the ground that reminded me of you” or “i bought you this necklace for 50 cents at a yard sale cause i thought you’d like it” or even “i’ve had this thing since childhood but i feel like it could be of some use to you or give you comfort so i want you to have it”
The point of a gift is to show that you know👏 a 👏person👏well👏!!!!
I have this love language and I have described it as being a magpie. I found this cool ceramic plate at goodwill I thought you would like. I heard you were looking for a new pen here try this one. Please accept my trinkets of devotion.
stepped on a plum (overripe plum) (barefoot) it was on the driveway got out of the car and accidentally (didn’t know it was there) stepped on the plum (warm) (on the ground) (it had fallen from the tree) barefoot (no shoes) wearing long pants (too long) (need to hem them) plum viscera got on them (the pants) unexpected plum on the driveway (hot plum) (97 degrees out) already super hungover (throwing up all morning) (should not have been driving at all) and I stepped out of the car (black car) (97 degrees out) and onto the plum (unexpected) (didn’t know the plum was there) and it burst (plum nightmare on my only good pair of sweatpants) still we find ways to keep ourselves going from day to day
Forms a closer psychic + spiritual bond with the car
I don’t care that they were barefoot, they just said they were wearing sweatpants in 97 degree heat! What the heck.
I do not own a single pair of shorts as seeing my legs is a privilege reserved for lovers and whatever coroner ends up doing my autopsy. Amen and god bless
I don’t think people realize just how big reputation was for Taylor’s career….like every day in 2016 would be another op-ed about whether or not you could trust her, if she was “really” a feminist, if her songs were all just “playing the victim,” etc. not to mention the torrent of of the online abuse from the #taylorswiftisoverparty…obviously Taylor had a mammoth career preceding her, but people were constantly questioning what on earth Taylor could do in response + if she could find a similar kind of success again, etc.
for her to come back a year later with a record where she reclaimed the symbols used against her (the snake motif), addressed her reputation/image quite cleverly in music video form, and the album overall was well-received, did commercially fantastic, and launched her biggest tour yet… it proved to the world that Taylor’s art was not dependent on a carefully maintained image or PR favorability, that even if the world supposedly hated her, she had a diehard fanbase and that her words are more powerful than even the worst reputation
